KSCAN (Korean State Contract Assistant Network) is an assistant network to support small, diverse, and veteran businesses who work in the area that the state buys and consists of the Great Seattle Korean Association, the Federal Way Korean Association, the Tacoma Korean Association, and the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce Washington.
The purpose is to provide state contracting opportunities to historically underserved Korean businesses and increase the overall number of minority and women minority-owned businesses successfully winning state contracts.
Community Outreach
Identify and reach small, diverse, and veteran businesses who work in the area that the state buys and circulate information received from DES to Korean and other business communities utilizing community-wide media channels. It includes information about Statewide bid notices, workshops, and training opportunities
Education & Training
Provide small, diverse, and veteran businesses with education and training through seminars and workshops by hosting a minimum of two workshops a month, showing them how to do business with the state that includes WEBS registration, where to find current and upcoming state contracting opportunities, and where to get technical assistance and other resource
Train-the-Trainers
Coordinate work activities with member
organizations in the KSCAN to reach a wide
range of Korean and other ethnic businesses showing them how to do business with the state and train the members in order for them to host workshops featuring how to do business with the state, guiding registration on WEBS, and covering current and upcoming statewide bid notices and manage event logistics such as providing facilities and all that is necessary to conduct a successful event, either virtual or in-person
Consulting
Support small business owners and entrepreneurs in the Korean community in Washington to pursue business launch and growth by connecting them with experts.
